Seal Coast Safari - Family (2 A, 2 Ch) - Wellington
Visit the seals on the South coast - Family gift idea for wellington families
You will connect with the ‘real New Zealand’ during your breathtaking 3-hour Seal Coast Safari! Stories abound as we drive for 20 rugged kilometres along the beach, over rocks, around the bays and headlands, to Tongue Point, which is home to a colony of amazing New Zealand fur seals. Tea or coffee with a gourmet muffin is enjoyed with the seals as you take in the beauty of the natural habitat they live in, experiencing the crashing waves and the famous Leaning Lighthouse.
To get to the seals we climb in our 4WD vehicles which we like to call ‘Seal Mobiles’, up to the Brooklyn Wind Turbine, up and over a fault-line and through the hills of a farm which we have privileged access to. Here you can come face to face with wild goats, ostriches and even horses! You will be truly amazed by the majestic views of the City, the Wellington harbour, both the Pacific and Tasman Oceans and the distant snow-capped mountain ranges of the South Island.
Almost all of the three hour Safari is on restricted or unmarked private roads or tracks which means there are no crowds, and small numbers on the safari (maximum 9 per vehicle) make for friendly and informative tours.
