Just 20 minutes drive west of the city, this award-winning, purpose-built mountain bike park offers more that 20 kilometres of single track through beautiful native bush and along high ridge tops, giving spectacular views of the city, Cook Strait and the South Island. Riders with a level of fitness and ability will find something to please at Makara Peak, from easy ambles to spine-tingling down hills.
All hire bikes are 24-speed front suspension equipped with the twin disc brakes. We also have standard mountain bikes available for touring. SPD pedals are also available on request.
- Bike hire is for a half day (4 hours)
- All bikes are supplied with a helmet
