FLY BY WIRE is the world's first adventure ride gift, offering
full pilot control of a high speed tethered plane. The plane
is suspended from an overhead suspension point 55m (170ft) high
which allows high speed flight anywhere within the half hemisphere
below it. Speeds of up to 120 KPH are attainable with the plane
reaching a maximum height of about 50m and flying within 1.5m
of the ground. Maximum 'G' forces are up to three times gravity.
Full pilot control allows the rider to fly fast or slow in any
direction and to launch at any point during the starting ascent.
Fly by wire adventure ride gives you the pilot a spectacular
eight minute flight plus a video of your performance. Once flying,
you're completely on your own and while the plane is easy to
fly, it's not just as easy as falling off a bridge! The control
yoke has throttle, steering and and haul rope release controls
as well as a kill switch to stop the 60hp aeronautical engine.
The dash is fully instrumented.
Wearing red overalls and helmet, you are strapped in with
a seven point harness, the plane is lifted clear of the groung
and winched up through the flight arc. Reaching your desired
height, you begin your flight with the left hand release control,
simultaneously powering the engine to full revs with the right
hand throttle. The plane is launched into flight and you are
free to fly it as high and as fast as you can, The first minute
of your flight has a steep learning curve!
