Most trips are relaxed but with a focus on getting a good catch. For a more laid back day out we can change our attitude and cruise out, have a cup of tea or a beer catch a few fish or some paua then return at a respectable time. Going ashore somewhere to explore is a possibility.
The focus is on catching fish, being groper out deep or terakihi and blue cod closer to shore, usually a bit of both. In the summer we can also be catching snapper, or possibly kingfish, trevally or john dory are a possibility.
The boats
You could be on our catamaran, Felix, or the bigger launch, Marinowai. Felix is a 6m catamaran twin engines, a fast boat and usually more fish to share around since a smaller group will be on board. Departs Titahi Bay. Marinowai is a 14m launch with a large comfortable cabin, galley gas bbq and plenty of walking space. Departs Mana Marina (to be confirmed at time of booking).
Both boats have a marine department safety survey annually and the trips are all run by qualified skippers. All lifesaving equipment is on board.
