Trout Fishing Excursion - 3 hours - 8 people

Experience trolling or harling on Lake Taupo – the largest self sustaining trout fishery in Australasia. Gift experience with broad appeal.  Christmas gift for a family or group of guys.

The friendly crew can prepare and barbeque your freshly caught trout for you or prepare it sashimi style as a tasty snack complimenting your scrumptious meal prepared by our in house caterer (catering is an extra cost – please ask for copies of our menus). There are full bar facilities available with a large variety of NZ wines on all our launches.

The fishing equipment is provided, but fishing licences are required and can be purchased on board – currently $16 per adult (price to be confirmed when booking – price not included with the cost of this voucher). Our launches are well appointed, provide plenty of cover in all weathers and have bathroom facilities. For those looking for a purely leisurely experience, lie back and enjoy a glass of wine in the sun.

Both rainbow and brown trout abound and any trout over 40 cm in length can be kept. It is illegal to buy or sell trout in New Zealand. The only way to experience the culinary please of this supremely delicately textured fish is to catch it yourself and there is no easier place to do this than on the water of Lake Taupo aboard one of our launches.
