Wellington Zoo Red Panda Encounter - 2 people
A once in a lifetime experience that will excite, move and captivate you!
Hand feed a red panda and get up close to the cutest animals in the Zoo and their keepers. Sit inside their enclosure as the pandas approach you, put their paws on your knees and delicately take a grape or some pear from your hand. Interact with the red pandas and their keepers - learn why there are only 2,500 red pandas left in the world, and what makes them so special. Make sure you book well in advance for this popular encounter.
Your guide will be with you at all times during the tour. Staff at Wellington Zoo will take all practical steps to reduce the risks in their activities to acceptable levels, supply instruction on safe practices, and make participants aware of the level of risk in each activity. However all activities require a shared responsibility.
Access to the rest of Wellington Zoo is included with this experience.
This session runs Monday to Friday (except Wednesdays) and alternate weekends at 11.30 am and 2.30 pm (please confirm times when booking). The weather does not normally affect this tour, but this can be confirmed on the day.
Gift Restrictions
The minimum age requirement is 6 years old. If you are under 14 years you will need to be accompanied by a paying adult.
Minimum: 2 people, maximum 4 people.
Due to the possibility of unforeseeable animal health or staffing issues, Wellington Zoo cannot guarantee that all animals and exhibits specified will be available. All participants must ensure that they are wearing appropriate clothing and closed footwear.
