Zipline and Native Forest Trail Kaikoura – 1 Child – (aged 15 and under) Experience Kaikoura as you have never experienced it before!! Your 3.5-hour adventure and eco-tourism experience starts in central Kaikoura. After meeting the crew at homebase, they will prep you for your 15-minute scenic shuttle ride south in airconditioned comfort to the “gear up” and staging location….From there, you’ll be transferred to a custom-built Unimog 4X4 that will carry you through the intertwined freshwater streams of the Kahutara river, then onto Rakanui Station…. Through all stages of your experience you’ll be accompanied by two of our expert, local guides, who will describe the history of the region, share stories of the local people and explain how your participation in the Zipline experience is helping to restore sections of Rakanui Station’s farmland back to native forest. Crossing the Kahutara river in our 4X4 vehicle, taking in the sweeping views of South Bay – home to Kaikoura’s whale watching fleet and the Kaikoura peninsula, where Maui placed his heel to steady himself as he hauled North Island from the ocean – enjoy commentary from our team of expert, local guides, before completing 5 epic ziplines, ranging from 200 – 620m in length, followed by a walk back to base through our native tree nursey and regenerating forest. Our twin cables make this a unique experience as, unlike other zipline tours, you can fly side-by-side with a friend or family member down lines totalling more than 2.2km in length. You will find we've turned a usually solo experience in to a highly social one! Join us and experience fun, excitement, laughter and adventure all just a 2.5 hour drive from Christchurch, or 2 hour drive from Picton. Leave with lifelong memories and the knowledge that, by visiting you've contributed to the lasting conservation of an important environmental legacy. We know you won’t be disappointed.
