Waipara Wine Trail (including platter lunch) – 2 people –  Perfect gift idea for Birthdays, Weddings and Anniversarys also a wonderful way to introduce tourists to some of NZ's fine wine. This tour explores 3 of North Canterbury’s boutique vineyards. From Christchurch we drive 45 minutes north through the New Zealand countryside to the Waipara Valley, well known for its warm, dry climate and rich alluvial soils, ideal for superior wine production. Over 40 vineyards and wineries pepper the landscape of the valley, with pinot noir, riesling, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc dominating local plantings. The first stop is at Waipara Springs Winery, where both a tasting of their wines and a plattered lunch has been arranged for your enjoyment. You will also stop for tastings at Pegasus Bay,  Torlesse or Georges Road (Should any of the above named wineries be unavailable on the day, an alternative winery in the Waipara area will be included) A midday departure is available throughout the year. Tour duration approx 5-1/2 hrs Pickups from most Hotels/Motels in Christchurch Central Pickup is outside Canterbury Museum / Information Centre on Rolleston Avenue.
